During the Reseau Docteur mentorship I have learned many pointers that could help me in my future decisions, with that being financially and mentally. Being on a pre med journey is not always easy but having medical doctors mentor me, has been very helpful in ways I couldn’t explain. This program was very beneficial for me since it gave me the knowledge and tools to become a better health professional in the future. I am glad that I was able to learn how to study effectively, make better connections with peers and mentors, manage my finances better, and plan out my future in research and volunteer work. I was glad that I could be exposed to Black doctors and health professionals that come from all walks of life and that had their own wisdom and experience in medicine. After finishing this program, I have a new sense of confidence within the healthcare and professional world.

Overall, I had a great experience with this summer mentorship program. This was an eye-opening experience for me. I learned more about what I need to do right now to help my future self as I progress in my medical career. I left majority of the meetings feeling inspired and ready to work to increase my knowledge and gain more experience. Thank you all for helping me feel motivated and strengthened, as I know the road I am currently on will become increasingly challenging.
